This weekend let’s remember those who have carried the burden for our freedom. Jesus understands and He loves you. To all of our veterans, to the families of those who have made the ultimate sacrifice, and to those who are serving our nation right now we say, “Thank you.” With God’s help we will always remember and pray for you.
This week our youth will be at War Cry, the GCI youth conference. This year it is being held again at Liberty University in Virginia. Please pray and support these teens as they gather with hundreds of other youth to worship God and look for ways to change the world together through the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Sunday morning at both the 9:00 & 11:00 services we will have a great privilege. Our guest speaker is originally from a Muslim nation that strongly opposes Christianity. He will be sharing his testimony of how he became a follower of Jesus Christ and of the persecution that followed. His story will inspire and challenge you.
We can’t provide more information here for security purposes, but everyone is invited to come and hear this dear man of God. We have a nursery that is available at both services and Kingdom Quest for children ages 3-12 meets at 11:00. Dress is casual. Please come!
At Easter we celebrate because the tomb where Jesus was buried was found empty. His followers realized that He is not dead but alive! After that first Easter though, it wasn’t the empty tomb that became the symbol of the Christian faith, it was the cross. Ever wonder why?

There are some good reasons the early church identified with the cross. The message of the cross is about mankind’s relationship with God and the need for a sacrifice. Why would God need someone to die in our place? What kind of God would kill His own Son? What does the cross mean to us today? These are hard questions that deserve an answer. You may have noticed that life is not always wonderful. We want you to know that God is there for you not only in the good times, but also when life is hard and painful; when questions and doubts come in waves.
Our services are at 9:00 and 11:00 AM on Sunday morning. We have a nursery available during the message at both services and our children’s ministry, Kingdom Quest, starts at 11:00 for kids ages 3-12. Dress is casual.
Whatever your relationship with God, skeptic, agnostic, atheist, or believer, you are welcome.
Have you ever wondered what God is like? Understanding God has been a series of messages designed to help anyone who has ever struggled to try and figure out just who God really is, what He is like, and what that means to you. We hope you have learned a lot about God and that you will really grow spiritually as a result of this series. This Sunday will be the last installment, where we wrap everything up. Please come and invite your friends, especially anyone you know that struggles with the concept of God or the idea of really knowing Him. Your invitation could lead to the most important discovery in someone’s life!
Sunday morning services are at 9 & 11 AM with nursery provided during the messages for children under the ages of 3. Our Children’s Ministry, Kingdom Quest, for kids ages 3-12 meets during the 11 AM service. We’re right on Roxboro Rd. in northern Durham – easy to find. Check out the “Find us!” link on the right for directions and a map. We’ll see you there!

On Wednesday CA will again be celebrating the 4th of July with our annual Pig Pickin’. Everyone is invited! The location is the Ribet’s at 8112 Johnson Mill Rd. in Bahama. The festivities start at noon and will keep going until around 3:00 PM. CA provides the pig (and some chicken too) and all of the ice, plates, cups and utensils. Everyone else should bring a side dish or dessert, something to drink, and a folding chair or blanket to sit on. We’ll have lots of food, games, and fun. We’re expecting a big crowd so we recommend you consider car pooling if possible. And please, no pets. You can call the Ribet’s at 919-477-8227 for directions or more information. Hope to see you there!
The week of June 25-29, CA is going to be having a great week of fun and education for all kids ages 5-12. Our Vacation Bible School this year is called Rodeo Roundup. Unlike other VBS programs we build ours from the ground up and we put in drama, skits, puppets, video, games, prizes, snacks and more to make sure the kids are engaged and encouraged! This year’s theme is built around not only helping kids know more about Jesus, but also helping them to share their faith with other kids and adults. The program runs from 9:00-11:45 AM each day, Monday through Friday. Then on Friday night at 7:00 we have a big Grand Finale so that parents and family can see what their kids have been doing all week and even get in on the fun themselves. You don’t want to miss it!
Everyone is invited to take part in this VBS. It is provided absolutely free of charge for all kids ages 5-12 in our community. You don’t have to be a member of our church. For more information and to register, please call the church office at 919-471-0220. We look forward to seeing your kids there!
You may notice distinct changes taking place to our site. (If not, you really need to get the glasses changed!) As always, we’re striving to produce a clean, easy to use and navigate site for our members and visitors, and these visual changes are part of the effort. We’re also making behind the scene changes toward the same goal. Please let us know what you think!
