These are tough times. Our wages aren’t going very far with the cost of food, gas, insurance, housing, education, and everything else on the rise. Sometimes it seems like we are working harder and having less to show for it. So the question is, what is worth working for? The Apostle Paul liked working for God. He says, “Therefore, my dear brothers, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.” ~ I Corinthians 15:58 NIV
This weekend we celebrate Labor Day. Maybe it would be good to start out in God’s house on Sunday and spend some time with Him before we put all of our time, money, and energy into something else. Doesn’t that make more sense than working for something that won’t satisfy or last? Our services are at 9:00 & 11:00 with children’s ministry at 11:00. Come and give thanks to God because He takes care of us, even when our jobs won’t.
Right now our pastor is on vacation. That’s OK because we all need some time to rest. But aren’t you glad that God doesn’t take a holiday? In fact, He never misses a beat. If we listen, He is always there guiding us and sending out messages to help us. If you’re in need of something from God we have good news! Ben Goodman will be our special guest speaker this Sunday. Ben is a prophet, philosopher, teacher, husband, father, and good friend.
Our services are at 9:00 & 11:00 with nursery during the message. Kingdom Quest children’s ministry for kids ages 3-12 is available during the 11:00 service. Come hear Ben this Sunday, a good friend with a message for you from God.
Our special guest speaker this Sunday will be Dr. Bill Kaiser. Since 1986 he and his wife Emogene have traveled the US, Canada, Europe and Africa in missions ministry. Together they pioneered the Time of Refreshing meetings for American missionaries serving overseas. To date they have conducted over 25 Time of Refreshing gatherings, hosting missionaries for three days of cost-free blessing and encouragement. Since 1986, they have hosted over 2000 missionaries.
You are invited to come and hear Dr. Kaiser this Sunday at either the 9:00 or 11:00 AM service. Nursery is provided during the message and our children’s ministry for kids ages 5-12 meets at 11:00. We hope to see you there!
Soren Kierkegaard once wrote, “not to be oneself, as God created you, is despair.” Most people yearn for a sense of worth, purpose, and distinctiveness. But we are frustrated to discover that a genuine sense of fulfillment is based on conditions that we can never achieve or maintain.
Want to know more about finding who you are? You are invited this Sunday morning to either the 9:00 or 11:00 services to hear God’s word on the subject. Our children’s ministry, Kingdom Quest, meets during the 11:00 service and a nursery is provided at both services during the message. Who knows? Maybe you’ll find the answer you’ve been looking for.
