God & Man – Men’s Conference

LAST DAY! The CA Men’s Conference, God & Man is being held this morning (Saturday) 9:00 AM-Noon with a continental breakfast at 8:00 AM. When you come you will hear from men who have succeeded in the fight all Christian men are facing today. Pastor Dub Karriker, Judge James T. (Jim) Hill, GCI leader Michael Cotten, and Pastor Ron Butler are our speakers. These leaders are equipped to provide the tools men need to be a true Man of God in the situations they face daily.

The best part of this conference is that it won’t take a lot of your time. It won’t take a lot of your money; it only costs $5 per session. You’ll get breakfast and the book, “How to Get Promoted” by GCI leader, pastor, and author Michael Fletcher. How sweet is that? You’ll also meet other men who are seeking the same thing you are. Best of all, you’ll get better connected with God. You’ll understand what He is asking of you, and you’ll learn how God will help you succeed.

If you need more information, just email us or call us at (919) 471-0220. This conference is open to all men age 12 and up. Just show up at the door. We want to see you there!

Good News!

In the same region there were some shepherds staying out in the fields and keeping watch over their flock by night. And an angel of the Lord suddenly stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them; and they were terribly frightened. But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid; for behold, I bring you good news of great joy which will be for all the people; for today in the city of David there has been born for you a Savior, who is Christ, the Lord. This will be a sign for you; you will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.” And suddenly there appeared with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying, “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth, peace among men with whom He is pleased.” ~ Luke 2:8-14 NAS Bible

From everyone at CA, Merry Christmas!

The CA family Christmas event, Christmas Carols, Candles, and Cookies (C4) is happening this Friday night at 7:30PM. There will be readings from the prophets and the New Testament regarding the birth of Jesus Christ. Mixed media and Christmas carols will accompany each of the readings. Near the end everyone will light candles and sing together in a joyous conclusion to this worship event. And then, the cookies! Everyone should bring their favorite holiday treat and we’ll end around the table sharing the joy of Christmas together. We hope to see you there!

Light of the World

With candles, lights on trees, houses, lawns, and wreaths, Christmas is a time of light. Did you know the Bible says that Jesus is the Light of the World which enlightens every person? You may have heard of the movie, The Golden Compass. The story is set in a dark world and it centers around a mystical instrument called the “Alethiometer” (or Golden Compass) that discerns the truth behind every question and situation.

The quest for truth is a noble endeavor. Of course, The Golden Compass is a fantasy. Jesus is very real. He was born, He lived, He died, and He rose from the grave. Jesus said that He is, “the Way, the Truth, and the Life.” Would you like to know more? Come this Sunday morning and you’ll hear the true Christmas story that is more fantastic than any movie.

Our services are at 9:00 and 11:00 AM with nursery provided during the message at both services. Our children’s ministry, Kingdom Quest, happens at 11:00 during the second service for kids ages 3-12. We hope to see you there. Merry Christmas!

What Does The Drought Mean?

Durham is in a drought of biblical proportions. Without a miracle, we’ll be out of easily accessible water in less than 60 days. Wait a minute…OUT OF WATER? Sobering words. Which begs the question, why would God, the One that gives rain, be holding back? Is He trying to tell us something? We think so. If you are concerned about this and want to hear more, listen to the audio sermon below. You’ll hear the message we believe God is teaching us. Then please join us as we pray for rain.
